We received quite the review from the folks at Fodor’s who presented us with an orange star as “Fodor’s Choice Hotel Recommendation” in Sonora. According to their website, they award the stars to places they consider the “’best of the best,’ providing remarkable experiences in their price range, destination, or category.” We’re very pleased to be one of their “remarkable experiences”—we hope you’ll agree! Weekly Birding Tours in Alamos

Alamos is famous in bird-watching circles for the sheer number of species that have been documented in the area – well over 400, courtesy of its location at the crossroads of two very distinct habitats. Alas de Alamos Birdwatching Tours has the scoop on where the feathered beauties hang out and are once again offering their very popular Saturday morning bird walks to various birding locations around Alamos for the very modest price of $150 Mexican pesos. According to a recent post, they plan on scoping out to some new spots as well as many of last year’s favorites. Besides the early morning Saturday jaunts, they’ll be putting together a couple of longer day trips plus overnights to locations a bit farther afield. Weekday excursions – especially around the holiday season – are also available.
Need to check off a Western Kingbird or Black-Chinned Hummingbird from your list? Pack your binoculars and contact our Concierge, Sonia Granillos, at sonia@haciendadelossantos.org.mx or 888-777-0164 for details and reservations.
