Posada Tacubaya Entrance

Posada Tacubaya
Bed & Breakfast

Welcome to Posada Tacubaya, located in the heart of the charming colonial village of Alamos. A labor of love from the same family that created the exclusive and very elegant Hacienda de los Santos, the Posada echoes its excellent service and graceful lifestyle while providing a more casual atmosphere.

Walk through the front door and you'll be greeted by beautiful original artwork made by local artists, and a welcoming smile from Rito Valdéz our resident manager. You'll soon find yourself checking in effortlessly and taking a tour of your new home away from home.

Experience

Posada Tacubaya PoolFresh from a top-to-bottom restoration, the Posada Tacubaya is all about warm hospitality and lovely surroundings. A study in shades of terracotta, teal and sunset gold, the walls provide a backdrop for a rustic-chic décor, liberally sprinkled with tasteful handicrafts and local artwork. It's precisely what you would expect of hacienda living.

Cozy seating groups await animated conversations on the arched terrace, or portal , where outdoor fireplaces keep you warm in the winter, and lazy ceiling fans keep you cool in the summer. The arches open up onto the beautifully landscaped central patio. Purple-blossomed veracruzana vines, red bougainvillea, rare flowering amapa trees—one pink, the other yellow—, citrus trees, avocado, copa de oro tree and banana palms frame the brilliant blue pool, which is heated by the Sonoran sun.

Outside, the village of Alamos offers a delightful cultural experience. If your Spanish is a little rusty, bring your dictionary and your smile—everyone from our friendly staff to the people you meet in town will be more than happy to help with whatever you may need!

Posada Tacubaya RoomAccommodations

Posada Tacubaya has six spacious bedrooms with double doors that open out onto our lush, flower-filled gardens. Beautiful wrought iron beds are made up with crisp white 350-thread count Egyptian cotton linens, turned down each evening. Hand-carved furniture and decorative items have been handpicked to create a soothing, comfortable ambiance. Each room has a wood-burning fireplace to ward off chilly nights, as well as ceiling fans and air-conditioning to keep you cool during the summertime.

The ample, en-suite bathrooms are stocked with plenty of soft towels, dried under the Sonoran sun and fluffed to perfection in the dryer. The amenities are all natural and made especially for the Posada.

Posada Tacubaya RoomDining

In the morning you'll be tempted out of bed by the smells of baking muffins and the aroma of freshly brewed Chiapas coffee. This is Continental breakfast Posada-style, where the grapefruits, bananas and limes are picked right from the garden (when in season), and the mango marmalade is homemade. You can choose to enjoy your morning treats at the group table, dine on your own outside, on the portal, or in the privacy of your room.

Should you prefer a larger breakfast, just ask Rito to give you directions to the neighboring Hacienda de los Santos, where you can enjoy Mexican and American cuisine at the Agave Café or Santiago's (open during the summer season).

Every afternoon at 4:00 p.m., freshly made cookies for you to nibble on are placed on the kitchen table.

While we do not serve lunch or dinner at the Posada, our staff will be happy to make suggestions and reservations for dining elsewhere. The Hacienda de los Santos is also a superb choice for meals for guests 12 years and up.

Family Friendly

Alamos is a wonderful destination to bring your family, and Posada Tacubaya welcomes children and well-behaved pets.

We have nannies for hire during the day and into the evening. They have been carefully chosen and have impeccable recommendations, plus a reputation for being excellent caregivers with lots of fun ideas to keep your little ones busy. Charge is $4.00 USD (cash only, please) per hour of care for one or two children. A second nanny will be necessary for additional children.

We ask that you have your leash-trained dog sleep on the special dog beds provided by the Posada—they're made up with fresh sheets and a special treat is placed on top each day. There's also a large dog run where he or she can spend the day if you wish. A $50.00 deposit must be paid upon reservation and is refundable.
